interior attention

We currently live in my mother-in-law’s house which we are incredibly fortunate to have. She had been renting the house out after taking a job out of state and when we shared the news that we were moving back home to Maine – she was kind enough to let us become the tenants.

This house is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath. It’s in a great area and we have the best backyard for our dog, Lenny. There are some challenges to the house like a lack of built in storage, a teeny kitchen, and slanted ceilings on the 2nd floor, but it seems silly to find anything to complain about after 2 years of living in 600 sqft on the 5th floor. When we moved from Minneapolis back to Maine, we decided to sell all of our furniture except our mattress. It was a great choice at the time, but now we have a big house to furnish and that takes a lot of time.

My style is very minimal meets maybe, chic coastal? I never know what to call it. Here’s a small collection of photos that describe it better:

There are lots of rooms that still need items here and there. For instance, we’re still sleeping on a mattress on the floor because I can’t make my mind up on a bed frame.

I think I need to make individual posts on each room to really focus on the vision but for now – here’s a collection of items that are on my mind for our home:

Ballard Designs Rug
Host Home Candle Holder
Ralph Lauren Throw Pillow
Marble Wine Holder
Cane Stool
Shell Tray
Table lamp

I’ll pause here for now! Hope you have a great week.

fun finds – January

hrifting/antiquing. I genuinely get a thrill from finding something I just HAVE to have, even if it means nothing to anyone else. Although we’re not at the decorating phase of working on our house yet, a girl can still shop.

An overdue renovation update and a happy new year!

It’s been a teeny bit over two months since we closed on our house and since then we’ve done a lot of changes. I thought it necessary to document some of the progress that’s happened over here since we moved in a few weeks ago.

We bought a house!

There have been so many lessons along the way to get to where we are now but we finally OWN a house. First thing we did after we closed? Started ripping down cabinets and taking doors off hinges. I couldn’t wait a single second more to start making this place ours. It’s going to be…
