the wedding dresses I never wore

When we were getting married – the pandemic was in full force. It was a really challenging time to plan a wedding but we were extremely fortunate that all of our guests stayed healthy before and after the event.

I did all of my wedding dress shopping alone in Minneapolis and while that may seem lonely – for a picky gal – it was kind of ideal to not have other opinions clouding my judgement. My wedding dress was exactly what I needed but still to this day, there were two dresses that I can’t get out of my mind (see featured image and the first few photos of the feathered dress…). I unfortunately lost my job a few months before the wedding and wasn’t making very much while I had it, so we were on a very strict budget. Oddly enough – the custom option was the most affordable.

Some of the dresses I tried on were based on the assistant’s selections and not my own – encouraging me to try different shapes and styles.

fun finds – January

hrifting/antiquing. I genuinely get a thrill from finding something I just HAVE to have, even if it means nothing to anyone else. Although we’re not at the decorating phase of working on our house yet, a girl can still shop.

An overdue renovation update and a happy new year!

It’s been a teeny bit over two months since we closed on our house and since then we’ve done a lot of changes. I thought it necessary to document some of the progress that’s happened over here since we moved in a few weeks ago.
