I use the word “trend” lightly as I try not to fall into the typical mainstream trends but the smaller niche categories floating around Pinterest and Instagram. I’m gathering all these items and styles from my own saved inspiration, things I have bookmarked and items I’m loving from Etsy. Here’s where my style direction is taking me lately:

First up is wall sconces as bedside lamps. I know this isn’t anything new or innovative but it feels more exciting than a lamp. While we can’t all hardwire sconces next to our beds, there are also plug in sconce options. The most favorable option in my opinion still offers the same texture that a lamp would with a fabric shade but there are so many great choices out there.
Speaking of lamps – I’m also loving lamps in front of a window. This one is kind of a funny combination – some people might hate it. I love seeing lamps from outside houses – it really gives such a cozy feeling.

Appetizer hour. I feel like we only really treat ourselves to an appetizer hour when we’re hosting and lately I’ve been loving my olive time. I have a severe weakness for castelvetrano olives. After work ends, it’s nice to sit by the fire and decompress. I highly recommend.
Stripes!! I’ve always loved a stripe but lately I can’t get enough. I’m really enjoying a classic black and white (see our kitchen dishtowels and all my recent Net-A-Porter wish list items…). I’m sure you can tell by now that I’m a sucker for classic/timeless style. Stripes is no exception. Some of my favorite color combos are green and white, red and pink, and any combo of two of the same color in different tones.

A gentle pop of red. This one is simple but something I’m loving. I’m currently seeking out a pair of red ballet flats to add to my closet. Loving these classics.
Pull out vanity mirrors. I’m always a fan of gaining back counter space – especially in a bathroom. Having a magnifying mirror certainly isn’t a necessity but more of a luxury. I love the accordion style the most but any pull out magnifying mirror in the bathroom is a win for me.

Embroidered monograms. I love that embroidery makes something so personal. For the last couple years I’ve been gifting a lot more monogramed items – not the classic “one big letter in the middle and two smaller on the side” type – but initials. Embroidering linen napkins is on my to-do list this year. Would be a fun thing to add to the Thanksgiving table IMO.
Undersized lampshades! They’re just the cutest. I’ve been doing a lot of lampshade rearranging the house and I really love how this one landed. It’s fun to play around with sizing – completely inspired by Paige Wassel’s tall black lamp with a tiny lampshade. Love!!

Denim in other places besides pants! I really love denim in designs – specifically dark denim. We recently re-did our dining room chairs and I reupholstered the seats in a dark denim – it adds a familiar touch!
Vintage trestle tables. I fell in love with a coffee table on facebook marketplace but I wasn’t fast enough and someone else scooped it up. I’m back on the hunt for a french style trestle table. I love the weight of them in a room!

Honestly the list could go on but I’ll call it here. If you see these things in my life – just know they started as an idea or inspiration first. Really trying to gravitate towards things that make me feel good – why have it any other way? Have a great week!
