july mood board

I haven’t posted anything here in about a month. When I first created this blog, I was so excited to have a website that I was making posts almost every day and then the spark quickly fizzled out. I’ve been so deep in work, family, and personal things that I haven’t been able to indulge in any of my creative interests. But, as always, I’ve been busy playing on Pinterest and I still want to put a July mood board out there as it always brings me some slight peace to put together.

There’s a lot of change coming up in our life and I’ve been riding the chaos wave for a bit. As we move into my favorite month of the year (it’s August), I’m looking forward to hopefully slowing our life down as well. We’re preparing for a big move come fall and while this summer has flown by, I can feel how much I need to take some time off of work and relieve pent up stress.

As I’ve mentioned before, we’ve been looking for a house for a few months now and one of the best things about house hunting is the inspiration that architecture and landscapes can inspire. I said to my husband the other day that although it would be so nice to have an endless house budget, having to find work arounds for things you might not like in your home really strikes the creative nerve. I’m looking forward to putting our personal touch on a house some time in the near future.

fun finds – January

hrifting/antiquing. I genuinely get a thrill from finding something I just HAVE to have, even if it means nothing to anyone else. Although we’re not at the decorating phase of working on our house yet, a girl can still shop.

An overdue renovation update and a happy new year!

It’s been a teeny bit over two months since we closed on our house and since then we’ve done a lot of changes. I thought it necessary to document some of the progress that’s happened over here since we moved in a few weeks ago.

We bought a house!

There have been so many lessons along the way to get to where we are now but we finally OWN a house. First thing we did after we closed? Started ripping down cabinets and taking doors off hinges. I couldn’t wait a single second more to start making this place ours. It’s going to be…
