We bought a house!

There have been so many lessons along the way to get to where we are now but we finally OWN a house. First thing we did after we closed? Started ripping down cabinets and taking doors off hinges. I couldn’t wait a single second more to start making this place ours. It’s going to be a long (and ridiculously expensive) journey but we’re thrilled. This house is a small 3-bedroom 1960’s ranch in a sweet little neighborhood (I never in a million years thought this would be where we’d land). We’re only the second owners which feels really special. When we started the process of discussing what we wanted – we were way off the mark on what we could actually afford in the current market but I’m also quite glad we ended up with this house. We have a two car garage, the kindest neighbors and because the house is on the smaller side, the projects are much more manageable. It has been a hard year trying to get to this point and even though we haven’t officially moved in yet – at least it’s ours! I’ll be sharing lots more progress but for now – here’s a collection of images I’m inspired by for this house by room/area:

Entryway
Living room
Kitchen
Office
Bedroom
Bathroom
Backyard

As with everything, I’m sure things will change and evolve. Just feeling very grateful that we have a place to call our own!

I can’t believe you finally have a place all your own!!! I shrieked when I glimpsed the first photos of exterior inspo, I thought they were pictures of the actual place!!!

It’s so great to follow your journey on this blog Maddie 😊 We (my mom, Dan, and meeee) are over the moon for you and can’t wait to see what magic you’ll create in your new home!

fun finds – January

hrifting/antiquing. I genuinely get a thrill from finding something I just HAVE to have, even if it means nothing to anyone else. Although we’re not at the decorating phase of working on our house yet, a girl can still shop.

An overdue renovation update and a happy new year!

It’s been a teeny bit over two months since we closed on our house and since then we’ve done a lot of changes. I thought it necessary to document some of the progress that’s happened over here since we moved in a few weeks ago.

dream-like wonder

If I say what’s happening out loud, it might jinx it. So I’ll leave it up to you to make assumptions about an exciting announcement happening shortly. Because of this ambiguous announcement, I’ve been diving back into inspiration after taking some time off of design content. I’ve been in a colorful/whimsy wormhole and I’m loving…
