all the good things – April

While I spend quite a bit of time making posts about things I hope to add to our life, I thought it would be a nice balance to make a list of the things that I’m thoroughly enjoying lately. My husband and I have been taking an instagram break and it’s been really lovely to tune into the reality of every day life together. Comparison seems to always be the thief of joy for me and I’ve been especially grateful for everything we have when I’m not convinced the grass is greener. It might just be the change in blooming buds that’s making me feel hopeful again but honestly, there’s nothing wrong with a little spring catalyst. Here are some good things I’ve been enjoying lately:

Dinner parties

Stripes (see photo for proof)

Self care (dry brushing, extra skincare love, baths…)

Candlelight at dinner

Fresh flowers around the house

Afternoon coffee (decaf for me)

Rearranging furniture

Sparkling water (my dad got us the Aarke for Christmas and I love it but also Polar cans because duh)

Early morning workouts at the gym

Slip on shoes

Hand lotion and cuticle oil

Experimenting with new make up – truly only when we go out for dinner. I’m bare faced 98% of the time.

House hunting – not finding the right one is hard but looking is fun and I like imaging what things could look like everywhere we go.

Onigiri lunches with soft boiled eggs (furikake seasoning and sushi rice go together like PB&J)

My label maker

A delicious glass of white wine

Antique stores (always)

A clean kitchen

Our new living room rug

Seeing green grass again

Unconditional dog love

Afternoon walks

Adding new books to the collection

Rewatching Friends

Kind strangers

Tidying the house at the end of the night

Living in Maine again ❤

The good news is that the list is endless. I’m taking deeper breaths and remembering that all the things I wish I had won’t bring me any closer to happiness – only gratitude can.

fun finds – January

hrifting/antiquing. I genuinely get a thrill from finding something I just HAVE to have, even if it means nothing to anyone else. Although we’re not at the decorating phase of working on our house yet, a girl can still shop.

An overdue renovation update and a happy new year!

It’s been a teeny bit over two months since we closed on our house and since then we’ve done a lot of changes. I thought it necessary to document some of the progress that’s happened over here since we moved in a few weeks ago.

We bought a house!

There have been so many lessons along the way to get to where we are now but we finally OWN a house. First thing we did after we closed? Started ripping down cabinets and taking doors off hinges. I couldn’t wait a single second more to start making this place ours. It’s going to be…
