There have been so many lessons along the way to get to where we are now but we finally OWN a house. First thing we did after we closed? Started ripping down cabinets and taking doors off hinges. I couldn’t wait a single second more to start making this place ours. It’s going to be a long (and ridiculously expensive) journey but we’re thrilled. This house is a small 3-bedroom 1960’s ranch in a sweet little neighborhood (I never in a million years thought this would be where we’d land). We’re only the second owners which feels really special. When we started the process of discussing what we wanted – we were way off the mark on what we could actually afford in the current market but I’m also quite glad we ended up with this house. We have a two car garage, the kindest neighbors and because the house is on the smaller side, the projects are much more manageable. It has been a hard year trying to get to this point and even though we haven’t officially moved in yet – at least it’s ours! As with everything, I’m sure things will change and evolve. Just feeling very grateful that we have a place to call our own!
